Darcy Michael is a Canadian actor and comedian, best known for his roles in the television sitcom, Spun Out and his stand-up special on Crave.
He lives in Ladner, a heritage fishing village next to the Fraser River, with his husband of 18 years, Jeremy Baer. The pair led this year's Vancouver Pride Parade.
During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2021, the couple set up a TikTok channel together; it has since amassed 3.9 million followers.
They cover a variety of topics in their TikTok videos — from candid comedy shorts to advice on maintaining houseplants. Plants have always been a huge part of Michael’s life, having grown up in a garden centre outside of Ontario. Michael finds the grounding experience of caring for houseplants useful in managing his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity.
Michael uses his TikTok platform to discuss the impact of ADHD on his life. He says he wants to spread awareness about neurodiversity and encourage people to celebrate what makes them different, describing ADHD as his “superpower.”
