Things have been looking pretty decent in Vancouver in the weather department the last couple of weeks. A mix of winter coats and bare ankles have been spotted among the transit-using population as temps hang in the chillier zones at night and in the early morning, but often give way to some lovely sunny afternoons.
Spring starts Tuesday, March 20, so WTF are those SNOWFLAKES doing in the iPhone weather app?!

We get it, the first impulse is to panic. We did. It's really time to put the mittens and toques into storage for a few months, and focus instead on open-toed shoes and lightweight jackets. We can't do Easter Egg hunts in the snow! This is the west coast!
A deeper look into this week's forecast shows that odds are high that the iPhone weather app, which uses Weather Channel data, is just erring on the side of caution. Because Friday and Saturday are projected to be both wet and with lows in the 1 to 2 C zone. Brr.

Environment Canada's forecast, though, is thinking spring. There are no flurries, snowflakes, or mixed snow-rain in their 7-day outlook (phew).

Since we are looking at a week out, and Environment Canada tends to be more on the nose, odds are in favour of it being cold and wet and snow-free. At the very least, we aren't likely to see any snow that will stick around, especially with the temps heading back up to around 10C on March 24 and 25.
Fingers crossed, Vancouver.
