Canada's largest-ever drone light show will not be happening as planned on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
The event has been rescheduled for Friday.
The drone show, which was due to happen over the Vancouver harbour near Canada Place as part of the Grey Cup kickoff party, has been rescheduled due to Vancouver's rain, say organizers.
"The visually stunning show will now be visible on Friday from the Coal Harbour waterfront and seawall from the Vancouver Convention Centre West to the Westin Bayshore Hotel," reads a press release from the Grey Cup festival organizers.
Currently, heavy rain and a moderate breeze are forecast tonight for downtown Vancouver, according to V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station.
This evening's weather has the "potential to impact drone safety," state Grey Cup festival organizers.
The rest of the kickoff party, which includes the arrival of the Grey Cup, a performance by Felix Cartal, and the opening of the free street festival at Canada Place Way, will go ahead as scheduled.
The drone show will now take place Friday at 9:30 p.m. (an hour later than it was scheduled on Wednesday).
"The visually stunning show will now be visible on Friday from the Coal Harbour waterfront and seawall from the Vancouver Convention Centre West to the Westin Bayshore Hotel," state organizers.
Friday's evening forecast for Downtown Vancouver calls for some clouds and only a 30 per cent chance of rain at 6 p.m, decreasing as the night progresses. The temperature should be about 6 C during the rescheduled drone show.
