The Metro Vancouver weather forecast includes plenty of precipitation as a series of moderate systems bring moisture to the region starting on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

Pluviophiles may enjoy the Metro Vancouver weather forecast this week.

Pluviophiles enjoy rainy days, the sound and appearance of rain, and all things rain-related. The seven-day forecast includes plenty of precipitation as a series of moderate systems bring moisture to the region through the week and into the weekend.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Derek Lee tells V.I.A. locals will enjoy some sunny breaks to kick the week off on Tuesday, March 18, although the dry weather won't last long.

Tuesday night's forecast includes a 30 per cent chance of showers continuing through the night. From Wednesday afternoon to Thursday around noon, five to 10 mm of rain is expected to fall.

A low-pressure system is expected to roll off the Pacific on Thursday night, bringing rain to the region through early Friday. Up to 10 to 20 mm of precipitation is expected, Lee explains.

A cool, unstable airmass is behind the low-pressure system and could create an unstable atmosphere after the system clears. Intermittent sunshine could create warmer surface temperatures, which could clash with the airmass, increasing the risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Lee notes that thunderstorms are more common in the spring because it is a dynamic transitional month with a mix of cooler and warmer temperatures.

There's a chance of showers on Saturday night and another storm is expected to bring moisture to the Lower Mainland on Sunday or Monday, producing 10 to 30 mm of precipitation.

"It is uncertain for timing on this other weekend system," he notes, adding that there might not be any rain on Saturday night.

Heading into next week, the region is expected to see at least two days' respite from dreary weather as a ridge of high pressure builds.
