Get some sun while it's out.
This week is shaping up to be a fairly grey and dim week, though not particularly rainy, according to Environment Canada meteorologist Yimei Li.
"There's nothing of concern for now for this week," she tells V.I.A.
Weatherhood is showing showers throughout the week as well, though Tuesday and Wednesday may see more than Thursday or Friday.
Sunday and Monday will be the nicest days, according to Li, with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the upper teens (a peak of 19 C is possible Monday). There's a chance of spotty showers across Metro Vancouver, but nothing significant.
However, that'll come to an end late Monday, Oct. 7, afternoon or evening, Li says.
"The heavier band is coming in overnight [on Monday]," she explains. "That should ease off to a few showers on Tuesday."
It could bring up to 15 mm of rain throughout the night.
While not a particularly heavy rainstorm for Vancouver, that may be the most notable weather event for the week, she adds.
"There's nothing too crazy on the horizon," she tells V.I.A.
Showers are likely to be on and off from Tuesday to Friday, Oct. 11, with no more than 5 mm during any showery period.
The grey, damp weather will bring temperatures down the seasonal normal for Vancouver, with highs around 15 C and lows around 8 C each day.
While Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be cloudy the entire day, Thursday afternoon the sun may break through a couple of times, and on Friday it's more likely to make an appearance, but overall cloudy skies are expected to stay fairly solid overhead.
Li says in the longer-term forecast a couple of more significant rain events are possible on the weekend and early next week, but computer models are still uncertain about that. It'll depend on activity in the Gulf of Alaska and what gets sent south-east to southern B.C.
