The weather forecast for the Canada Day long weekend in Vancouver includes the threat of showers but mostly dry conditions. However, it isn't expected to get that hot.
V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 20 C and a low of 15 C with a 99 per cent chance of showers up to 7 mm on Wednesday, June 26 (see slide two).
More rain is expected Thursday, with up to 12 mm of precipitation expected and a high of 15 C and a low of 13.
Heading into the long weekend, the downtown core should see the sun peek out Friday and temperatures should climb a few degrees up to 19 C. Saturday's forecast includes a warmer daytime high of 21 C, with an overnight low of 13 C.
Wet weather may make itself into the city again on Sunday. The forecast includes a 62 per cent chance of rain in Vancouver with precipitation amounts totalling 5 mm.
Canada Day, Monday, July 1 may not see any rainfall but conditions are expected to be overcast; a high of 17 C with a low of 14 C is expected in the downtown core.
The sun is expected to make an appearance again on Tuesday.
While this week's temperatures trend at or slightly below the seasonal average, warmer-than-normal temperatures are expected through the summer.
