Vancouver weather: Sun and above-average heat to follow rainfall

Some summery conditions should follow a cloudy, possibly wet weekend.

The Vancouver weather forecast includes showers over the Canada Day long weekend but summery conditions are expected next week. 

Starting on Friday, June 28, V.I.A.'s Trout Lake Weatherhood station shows a high of 22 C and a low of 12 C with a three per cent chance of around 2 mm of rainfall (see slide two).

Saturday's forecast includes cloudy but dry conditions, with a high of 24 C and a low of 15 C.

Sunday is expected to be the wettest day of the holiday weekend, with a 54 per cent chance of 5 mm of rainfall. Temperatures should reach a high of 23 C and a low of 15 C.

Vancouver weather forecast includes a minor chance of rain on Canada Day

Canada Day, Monday, July 1, is expected to be mostly dry with a 24 per cent chance of 1 mm of rainfall in the Trout Lake neighbourhood. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 22 C and a low of 14 C.

Heading out of the long weekend, Tuesday's forecast includes a high of 21 C and a low of 13 C with a mix of sun and cloud. 

The sun is expected to shine through Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures hitting 22 C and 24 C, respectively. 

Based on Environment Canada's historical climate data, the average high for this time of year is 20.3 C and the low is 12.2 C, meaning next week's highs could trend roughly 4 C higher than normal.
