A gloomy week ahead for Vancouver weather — but there's one bright spot

Which day will the sun break open the cloudy skies?

It appears Vancouver will have to deal with a blanket of clouds as the first full week of March continues.

But there's a chance the sun may break the skies wide open for one day, according to V.I.A.'s Weatherhood.

The latest forecast shows a less than 50 per cent chance of rain for the city on Wednesday, March 5; that chance is less than 30 per cent for southern communities.

Winds to the west will gust up to 10 km/h, but may change directions intermittently to the east.

Thursday is when the sun is expected to shine brightly, raising the temperature to 10 C for downtown, Yaletown, Granville Island, and UBC.

Other areas may feel slightly warmer rays with a high of 12 C in the Vancouver neighbourhoods of Trout LakeStrathconaHastings-Sunrise, Langara, and Kerrisdale.

Weatherhood predicts the overnight low to drop to 2 C.
