The Vancouver weather forecast includes some sizzling temperatures over the weekend.
While the Canada Day long weekend featured temperatures trending close to seasonal averages, a ridge of high pressure is expected to trap warmer-than-normal heat in the Lower Mainland over the next several days.
V.I.A.'s Yaletown Weatherhood station shows clear skies and sunshine with a high of 25 C and a low of 15 C on Thursday, July 4. Friday's forecast includes similar conditions with a slightly higher daytime high of 26 C (see slide two).
Saturday's daytime high should feel significantly hotter in Yaletown, with a high of 29 C and a low of 17. Sunday is expected to be warmer, with the daytime high expected to cross the 30 C mark at 31 C.

Other parts of the city are expected to see similar daytime highs, although places near the water may have slightly cooler temperatures. For instance, the Jericho area isn't expected to see daytime highs above 30 C.
UBC's highest temperatures aren't expected to cross the 30 C mark, either. The waterfront area's highest daytime temperature is expected to be 29 C.
Temperatures trending several degrees above seasonal averages are expected to persist through the weekend into next week.
A "warm bias" is expected for the Lower Mainland and the rest of B.C. through July.
