The seven-day Vancouver weather forecast includes temperatures climbing over 20 C in the final week of September.
V.I.A.'s Trout Lake Weatherhood station shows a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 19 C and a low of 11 C on Friday, Sept. 20. Similar conditions are expected on Saturday, with a slightly warmer daytime high of 20 C (see slide two).
Sunday's forecast for Vancouver also includes mild temperatures, with a high of 19 C expected. However, there is a 70 per cent chance of wet weather in the latter portion of the day, with as much as 7 mm of precipitation expected.
Monday's forecast includes gloomy, albeit dry conditions, with a high of 20 C and a low of 13 C expected.
Vancouver weather forecast includes temperatures into the mid-20s
Environment Canada meteorologist Armel Castellan told V.I.A. in a previous interview that a "warmer trend" could emerge starting on Tuesday, offering the final days of summer-like temperatures in the seven-day forecast.
Vancouver's Trout Lake neighbourhood is expected to reach a high of 24 C, well above the regional seasonal average of 18 C (based on Environment Canada's historical climate data).
Castellan cautioned that fall forecasting is challenging because the season begets ever-evolving conditions.
"There's a lot of different weather in short succession. Nothing super cold or warm," he said.
Wetter weather appears in the forecast again starting Wednesday, with a 45 per cent chance of up to 9 mm of precipitation.
Castellan notes that the weather models indicate October will be wetter than normal in Western Canada. Sea surface temperatures are also warmer than seasonal averages, meaning October may trend slightly warmer than average in the Lower Mainland.
