Vancouver's forecast is calling for a healthy deluge of rainfall and colder temperatures this weekend, including around 20 mm by Sunday, March 16.
V.I.A.'s Weatherhood predicts a 99 and 82 per cent chance of showers on Saturday and Sunday respectively, coupled with steady winds of around 10 km/h heading west.
These conditions may be the case for downtown, False Creek, Granville Island and Mount Pleasant, as well as eastern communities like Trout Lake, Strathcona and Hastings-Sunrise.
Temperatures could reach as high as 7 C and a low of 4 C in the city.
However, the mercury may climb a little higher out by UBC and in parts of South Vancouver at nearly 10 C.
Extreme weather shelters still open
With temperatures still on the colder side and potentially dropping at any moment, Vancouver has continued its extreme weather shelter program.
Seven facilities (see list below) re-opened for vulnerable residents on Wednesday.
Tonight is the third and final evening of the latest activation. It's not yet known if the city is planning to extend the shelters
According to the city, criteria to activate extreme weather shelters include temperatures at or below 0 C or "feels like" 0 C with wind chill, or when rainfall of at least 50 mm accumulates in a 24-hour period.
