The Vancouver Police Department is thanking a concerned parent for calling in suspicious behaviour near a school playground.
The woman spotted a man allegedly masturbating "just outside of a school playground in East Vancouver" on March 27, according to a social media post from the VPD.
"It happened on a playground where there were children present in the Killarney neighbourhood," Const. Tania Visintin tells V.I.A., adding that the name of the school won't be released.
She called 911 and nearby officers arrived, found the man, and arrested him. Visintin notes police have had many interactions with the man over the years.
The 43-year-old suspect is currently in police custody and will be in court today, March 28.
