For once we actually celebrated Valentine's day on Valentine's day. Usually we're too cheap and just get plain annoyed with everyone else celebrating so we stay at home on Valentine's day. It's kinda like...imagine if everybody else was having their birthday on the same day you were having your birthday...that's no fun....
This year though my wife Sue Choy in all her wisdom thought it'd be a good idea to go to Charlie's Chocolate Factory which is located on Canada Way in Burnaby, buy a ton of chocolate and eat it in the car before we even got home.
If you haven't been here before, it's worth the trip. Charlie's is massive, it totally makes the 'kid in a candy shop' cliche true, they even have a chocolate river, just like the book!
Charlie is always around which makes the trip memorable, I always thought that Willy Wonka in the movies was kinda a jerk, but Charlie is more like Grandpa Joe, he's always helpful and quite jovial. I've heard they run tours and really do up the place for Christmas, but I think I'll pop in when the Easter Bunny makes his rounds.....
