BLOWIN UP YOUR SPOT: OAKRIDGE THEATRE

POSTED May 13, 2009 BY Bob Kronbauer
Tweet

Went and saw Wolverine last night at Oakridge Theatre in Oakridge Mall at 41st and Cambie… all alone! Actually my wife was with me but otherwise the place was a ghost town for the late show that started at 10. If you’re looking for somewhere where you can put your feet up, burp, fart, talk loudly, leave your cell phone on, TALK on your cell phone and/or make out freely during a movie, Oakridge is your spot.

oakridgetheatre

Apologies if this is your local secret spot and I’m blowin’ it up!

    bastard!

this place is so like the theaters when we were kids… sticky floors, that crazy old school popcorn smell, lackluster sound system… I like it a lot more than the new places! Oakridge is rad… and apparently Seth Rogen from Knocked up wanted to have the premier for that movie there… the studio said No..
    too bad!

saw star trek there the other nite! wasn’t as empty but still very nice

I had my first date there when I was 14. I think we saw Men in Black. I haven’t been there in years but this post brought back some memories.

I had my first date there as well. It was Austin Powers II. I love Oakridge Theatre. Arrive early, and have a pre movie Legendary Burger at White Spot across the hall.

You guys are hilarious… but it’s true, Oakridge never sells out. Even yesterday’s 7:00pm Transformers 2 show sold 500 out of 620 seats. The entire city was sold out but was Oakridge? Nope. Seriously. Don’t tell your friends, or it just might.

Haha, that’s the intention, Danielle… we’re here to help! Do you work there or something?
