So I stalked David Sedaris today. First I showed up at 11AM for his 1PM book signing at Chapters on Granville and Broadway, where I was 4th in a line of what ended up being like 300 people. Katie and Arlo showed up and we all got our favourite books signed by him.
When Katie was pregnant with Arlo, I read this book to her, so it's Arlo's favourite:

After getting our books signed, Katie and Arlo rolled elsewhere as I raced down to the CBC Studios on Cambie for David's Book Club reading. There weren't any signs that said "ABSOLUTELY NO PHOTOS OR VIDEO" at CBC like there was at Chapters, and nobody said anything to me about my SLR, so I snapped this photo of David and the two hosts of the show right after the incredibly funny, informative and entertaining hour long segment was recorded. You can listen to it on CBC in a couple of weeks, there should be info here.
Then after it was all finished I happened to be lurking as he was getting into a cab. Here's what he had to say when I told him about V.I.A.'s High Fiving Celebrities feature that I wanted him to be a part of:
"Well, Mister, there's two things that I absolutely don't do: I don't high five and I don't get my picture taken with people. That's a double whammy!" He said this as he closed the cab door in my face... and I loved him for it. What an awesome day!!!
