Last year I was able to cram skimboarding, snowboarding, and skateboarding all in one day. This year, in typical Vancouver fashion, I talked about it, but sat on my ass.... Spring came and went.....
The good news though, is that Vancouver is so awesome that I could find something equally as fun, exciting, and gnarly to do. Prior to discovering skimboarding, I was never a real beach guy, but since I found this great activity, it's allowed me to enjoy many of Vancouver's beaches. Which led me to my mission: to skim every beach in Vancouver: Third Beach, Second Beach, English Bay, Kits Beach, Spanish Banks, and Wreck to top it all off.
The logistics were pretty simple: bike....board....bag....

I'm not sure I could have done this alone, having the ultimate skim buddy in Dax made it a whole lot easier. He snuck off early the night before at 2:30 from work, went straight to bed and got up at 6:30 to start the day. The whole day was like a chill buddy cop film.....
The highlights of the day were seeing how pristine 3rd and 2nd beach were early in the morning, not driving, fries and tartar sauce, homecoming at Spanish, and knowing when to fold 'em when we hit Wreck. Total time: 7 hours. Thanks to Gerry Belmont and the Spanish Flyers skim club for pics, moral support and keeping the stoke up.
