HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PRACTICING ARTISTS FOR ? DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL AND WHERE ?

I have been shooting photos for most of my life. Both my mother and grandfather were always taking photos when I was a child, so I have always been around photography. I was given my first camera at a young age and have been taking photos ever since.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED IN VANCOUVER FOR ?

I've lived in the Lower Mainland most of my life and have been living in Vancouver for the past couple of years. I ride all kinds of bikes, snowboard, and in the summer I'm a major beach bum so Vancouver is pretty much the best.

WHAT MEDIUMS DO YOU WORK IN ?

I prefer to shoot 35mm film. A few years back I dropped a ton of cash on a DSLR setup which has been mostly used as a paper weight. I prefer shooting with rangefinder and point and shoot style cameras because I'm able to throw them in my pocket and carry them with me wherever I go.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE EXHIBITIONS  YOU HAVE BEEN APART OF ? AND OR PROJECTS ?

I am the photography editor for Factory Magazine, a new Vancouver based Arts Magazine. I also curate an online photography blog called fakirs&thieves in which friends from around the world add photos to our flickr group which are then posted on: http://fakirsandthieves.tumblr.com . I've also been lucky enough to have been featured in the NIGHT VISION shows which have been amazing.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO DO YOUR WORK ?

Friends, Family, Travels, House Parties, Bike Riding, Rock & Roll.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON FOR THE FUTURE ?

I am working towards a solo show in the next few months; also, continuing to work and collaborate with friends on photography zines/exhibitions.

Thanks Kyle! you may also see a some of Kyle's photos tonight at our show HERE IS NOW
