Winnipeg is Awesome. Cream Cheese, Neil Young, and ___?

Did you catch Neil Young sing Long May You Run at the closing ceremonies of the Olympics? My inside source insists that other than kd lang he was the only performer to go live. I'm thinking Neil doesn't lip sync.

Director Jonathan Demme's concert film Neil Young Trunk Show is playing at the fabulously comfortable and very clean Vancity Theatre, this Friday April 16th at 10:00 pm. When I say fabulously comfortable and very clean I mean that sincerely. If I could live there I would, because if I did I would not need a maid.

Rock and Roll Will Never Die

When I think about Winnipeg I think about my friend Marcel, who always greets me with a hearty "Renard!" This amuses me because although lots of people call me by my last name he's the only one that says it en français. Marcel has a heart of gold.

Marcel is from Winnipeg. So is Neil Young. (And really good cream cheese.)

So maybe you have no plans for Friday other than just wanting to keep on rockin' in the free world. Tell me something else that's really awesome about Winnipeg. Leave your witty, true, thoughtful, or downright remarkably obvious insight in the comments section. Whomever leaves the most witty, true, thoughtful or downright remarkably obvious insightful comment (as judged by yours truly) wins 2 tickets to the screening.

Enter as many times as you like.

Contest closes at 12:00 pm Thursday, April 15.
