We're on Twitter in order to spread a positive message about Vancouver. Period.
The only problem that we have with our Twitter account is that we're on a very short leash with it. And by "we" I mean "I": I'm the editor of this blog, I'm also the president of our company and I manage the Twitter account. We have extremely limited resources and even though we have 30,000+ Vancouverites visiting our blog every month our budget doesn't allow for one of those fancy smart phones with a data plan. This means that the only tweets you'll see from @viawesome are sent when I'm sitting in front of a computer at the office or at home. You'll notice I'm never tweeting images or letting you know about any sort of cool events or happenings I see as they happen while I'm out in the actual city, it's all just stuff that comes across my desk. This is all fair and good but it could be so much more valuable of a resource to you if I could offer you a look at things I come across outside of our office in real time.
So we're calling out all 9 of the mobile providers servicing Vancouver. We're looking for one of them to sponsor our Twitter account by supplying us with a smart phone and a data plan so we can bring it out into the community and serve you, our faithful readers, more awesomeness.
Are you listening Bell, Fido, Wind, Solo, Virgin, Telus, Rogers, Koodo and Mike? This is a great opportunity for one of you to give back and contribute to the cultural fibre of a city that supports you.
