The city announced the vendors for it's new street food program last week, and in case you haven't heard anything about it I'll sum it up for you in a few words: 17 new street food vendors opening July 31st! No matter how you slice it (food pun intended) this is great news for the streets of our city. Japadog will surely remain a Vancouver street food staple but it's pretty exciting to know that very shortly during our city walks we'll be feasting on burritos, dimsum, Korean, borscht, noodles, pizza and more and washing it down with freshly squeezed lemonade right before enjoying a chocolate dipped banana.
As a side note in the "good news about Vancouver street food" department, the program is already sprouting new peripheral businesses like the Gourmet Syndicate, which will offer turnkey food truck solutions to vendors.
