Tickets to Timeraiser Vancouver!

Imagine using something other than money as a currency for acquiring some really great, original works of art ... like, say, your time.
Now imagine that this time of yours that you were trading for these really great, original works of art was actually put towards good use ... like, say, volunteering.
That's more-or-less the gist of the Third Annual Timeraiser, taking place this Thursday at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown at 7:00 pm. Part silent auction, part social gathering, part cocktail party, part community drive to raise 5,000(!) collective hours of volunteer time and all good, Timeraiser tickets are $20 and you can purchase and sign up for the event HERE. There are numerous agencies looking to match energetic volunteers with skill sets best suited to their given cause - for a complete list, go HERE.

Last fall my friend and I spent an afternoon tidying up English Bay with a group of volunteers. It was an incredible experience and it felt good to help maintain and preserve an aspect of this city I enjoy. Also, it allowed me a sense of moral superiority for participating... you can't put a price on that.
