Read All Over celebrates the bookworm in all of us, showcasing readers in Vancouver and the books they love most. |
What book makes you feel like a kid again?
When I read the Harry Potter series I felt like a kid again, except that when I was a kid I read crap like Christopher Pike and The Baby-sitter's Club.
The one book you always recommend is...
A Heart Breaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers, especially the acknowledgments.
What books have changed your life?
Teen Angst: A Celebration of REALLY BAD Poetry changed my life is more ways than I can describe.
I just read Lydia Davis The Collected Stories of Lydia Davis and it blew my mind. How did I not know about her until recently?! (Thanks to my friend Kevin O'Neill!)
How do you like your books served up best - audio books, graphic novels, used paperbacks, library loaner, e-reader…
I do: audio books (because I get sick if I read in planes or cars), the library, new and used. I've yet to try those e-reader things. I'm a little skeptical about it. I love holding a beautifully bound book. However, I do find them appealing as I've spent the last two years basically living out of a suitcase and got rid of most of my book collection.
Your life story is published tomorrow. What's the title?
Not Easily Embarrassed
or
Seriously Unserious
or
Sara (no H) B-Y-N-O-E
Librarian vs. English Professor - Who is sexier?
Librarian because I used to work at a library. No... English Professor because I met a few beautiful minds while doing my MA. Screw it- they're both hawt.
Where is your favorite place to crack open a good book in Vancouver?
My bed.
