Today's photo is from Ivan Oyarzun and is titled cremation. I know Ivan a little in the real world, but I am more familiar with him online, and I follow his posts on Flickr really closely (it is surprising we haven't bumped into each other while taking photos; we seem to be drawn to similar locations). Ivan's photos are always rich with detail, and things aren't always what they seem - the boy has fairly mad Photoshop skills.
So how well do you think you know your city in a visual sense? Another reason for sharing this photo with you today is I wanted to tell you about a great group on Flickr called Guess Where Vancouver. Correctly guess where a photo was taken and you get a point; points can be redeemed for a sense of satisfaction and bragging rights. Very fun and more than a little addictive.
*Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert!* This photo was taken from East Broadway, looking north through what used to be the parking lot for the Roselawn Funeral Home (hence the title) beside Uncle Fatih's Pizza, just west of Commercial Drive. But don't tell anyone; this photo is currently unguessed!
