Volume 21: Birds Up Close show at Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park on June 16, 2011. Hashtag: #BirdsUpClose. More photos available on Flickr.
I strolled down the aquarium with my pals Dennis and May to see their new bird show with some of the social media community.
There were lots of social media types (like Yelp's Crystal Henrickson, top photo), mommy bloggers and their kiddies around to enjoy the bird show and mingle with Beebop the aquarium mascot.
The trainers showed off a few birds of prey. First off was the turkey vulture.
The show includes many other peculiar birds like Harris's hawk, peregrine falcon, and gyrfalcon.
The big show off of course was the bald eagle.
The eagle was massive and so iconic with its white head and tips.
Afterward, we all discussed the show over burgers, hot dogs, and barbeque.
I did find it odd that Beebop kept playfully hitting on May even in front of her fiance Dennis. I wonder who's really under there. Who knows.
If you have kids or are a bird lover, check out the show going on now at the aquarium.
