Volume 60: Okanagan Crush Pad wine tasting at Vancouver Urban Winery in the Downtown Eastside on March 14, 2012. More photos available on Flickr.
The spring/summer wine season is just around the corner.
To celebrate, I hit up the brand new Vancouver Urban Winery to preview all the reds and whites the Okanagan has to offer.
The locale, tucked away in Railtown in the Downtown Eastside next to the HootSuite bunker, is ultra cool. Look out for there wine on tap and kegging concept hitting restaurants and bars near you very soon.
I really enjoyed the varieties and flavours of wine. As a wino newbie, the sommeliers expertise and backgrounds upped my wine education greatly.
British Columbia is flourishing with wineries and vineyards, bringing the Okanagan flavour to the city.
OCP went all out to preview their spring wine portfolio including three new wines on tap (see bottom video) and a Haywire box collection.
Trust me, I'm well aware of the privilege of being able to drink wine at a private tasting on a Wednesday afternoon and fully enjoyed it. The things I do for a story...
