Volume 83: Made With Love mixology and cocktail competition at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre in Yaletown on August 20, 2012. More photos available on Flickr.
The second annual Made With Love cocktail face off happened earlier this week. There were some impressive drinks, twelve in all, showcased, including Julia Comu from The Keefer Bar's Young Delinquent cocktail (above) with Hendrick's Gin.
My pick was Jesse Bailey's fruity Anastasia's Little Black Dress with Skyy Vodka and toasted marshmellows.
Dave Mott from Oakwood Bistro's Salted Caramel Coco Nymph (left) with Canadian Club whisky was a rich, decadent drink. Grant Sceney from Fairmont Pacific Rim's Kentucky Float (right) with Maker's Mark bourbon and maple ice cream was a great adult twist on a root beer float.
Jason Brown from Calabash Bistro's Mutabaruka with Appleton V/X rum proved refreshing. Keenan Hood from The Keefer Bar's Unpredicted Season with Horitos Tequila took the judge's choice prize.
Rob Scope from Calabash Bistro's Sweet Smokey Love (above) with Appleton V/X rum was a little too strong for my taste.
Mark Smolinksi from Max's Burger's Jalisco Tea Party with Hornita Plata tequila was rather tasteful and refreshing. Robert H. Holl-Allen from Jules Bistro's Old Smokin' Appleshine with cherry apple infused Maker's Mark bourbon was nice going down.
Brendan Brewster from Fiamo Italian Kitchen's Fragola Milano with Campari bitters was a nice, breezy libation.
Shea Hogan from Clough Club's Girvan Mark with Hendrick's Gin took the people's choice prize. Geoff Mott from Pair Bistro's Amomum with Canadian Club was a classy, smooth drink.
It was overwhelming tasting all the cocktails with their inventive twists on different drinks.
