Welcome to In The Village on False Creek, a unique project inspired by Live@YVR and 365 Days of Dining. I've moved my family into this community with my mission being to showcase the myriad of things that make it awesome by bringing you a weekly scoop! |
A while back I made THIS POST about the Neighbourhood Energy Utility that takes untreated sewage from Vancouver and turns it into energy to heat our home and water in The Village On False Creek. I also talked about it on 102.7 The Peak in a piece you can listen to HERE, but I still feel a lot of people think that public sculpture is simply there for show when it is, in fact, serving an incredible purpose. My friend Yuri Artibise from Placespeak tipped me off to this semi-vintage video below which was released before construction of the Village was even finished. It highlights what the Utility does and how different levels of government all worked together to make it happen. It's really about the future of our city, and cities in general, and it's well worth two minutes of your time...
