Volume 98: Chewies Steam & Oyster Bar's 1-year anniversary party in Kitsilano on December 5, 2012. Hashtag: #chewies1year. More photos available on Flickr and Tumblr.
Steamed, stewed or nude.
Hard to believe it's only been a year since Chewies opened up with their epic grand opening party.
It's already become a solid fixture on the corner of first and Yew by Kits beach, especially in the summertime.
The menu remains eclectic with their Fanny Bay oysters (among many others), Southern fried chicken (in wing form above), coconut mussels, chicken and waffles brunch, and oyster happy hour.
With an always burgeoning food and restaurant scene, Vancouverites have been quick to welcome Chewies and their friendly, upbeat staff.
I try to make it to Chewies whenever I'm in Kitsilano for their fun, laidback atmosphere and southern style seafood. Also, I enjoyed the nice touch of the New Orleans style jazz trio playing big band songs.
