If I've heard one thing from friends who head up non-profits and charities it's that there's currently an overarching concern that donors are getting older and won't be around forever (COUGH - they're dying! - COUGH), and that the gap in giving concerns them. Young people are a virtual black hole when it comes to giving, partly because they (COUGH - we!) don't make a whole lot of money to give, and sometimes it's because many of us haven't had the time to develop a long-term vision of the way we want the world to be, or how we might help to shape it by sometimes just offering a little bit of financial help to other who can do that work for us.

So how about this: how about you start by dedicating a year to donating 1% of your income to something you believe in? Almost like a tithe, but not rooted in religion, just because you want to see a small portion of the money you make go toward making your world a better place. Let's say there was a site that made it easy to do that.

Enter One Year One Percent, a Vancouver-born digital initiative aimed at making it easier for you to give. Learn the basics via this infographic below then check out THIS PIECE that our friends at A Little More Good authored. This is beyond awesome.
