IT'S FITNESS FRIDAY! |
If you're worried that I'm not keeping up with the challenge and wont be giving away the two week passes you're wrong! I just did class #16 yesterday and almost almost halfway there! Here's a photo:
Today I'm going to chat about barre workout clothing! One of the things that Barre Fitness suggests is wearing form-fitting clothing so that the instructors can read your body's form and alignment better, and adjust you accordingly! But tight doesn't mean uncomfortable by any means!
Barre partners with Tonic Lifestyle Apparel - a local (our favourite!) Vancouver company that reflects the West Coast’s fashion meets function mindset.
The line originated out of a need for comfortable, high-quality yoga clothing featuring subtle and feminine details. Tonic has since become a major player in active wear that enhances movement and performance across a wide spectrum of activities.
(here is some of the Tonic clothing line in the Yaletown Barre Fitness studio)
Because the people over at Tonic are wonderful, and heart VancouverIsAwesome, they let me come in and pick an outfit out for myself to try out in class!
I went with this awesome tank and bra (in my favourite colour) combo (thinking wishful warm summer thoughts!) and these super comfy crop pants! Both the pants and the bra are made from their Libra fabric, and the tank is bamboo (super soft).
(I'm an awkward model...this is why I'm usually behind the camera, haha)
Here's a bit more about the fabric and Tonic: "Materials are sourced close to home, the majority of fabric coming from Canada’s fashion hub, Montreal. Mitigating our carbon footprint and supporting Canadian business is a priority to us, as is providing performance garments that can be worn and washed over and over again without compromising integrity.
Our performance pieces are made from Tonic’s exclusive LIBRA fabric, which consists of top quality Supplex® and Lycra®. LIBRA is pill and odour-resistant, colourfast and shape retaining. Tonic’s Lifestyle collection consists of pieces made from sustainable fabrics such as luxurious Bamboo, organic cotton, merino wool, hemp and flax. New styles and colours are released twice each year and are perfect for pre- and post-practice as well as daily casual wear. "
Well, that's it for this week. Next week I think I'll be bringing you some workout tips you can do at home! And don't forget there are still workshops that you can sign up for...like "Ab Attack" on Saturday, and I'll be at "Sexy Dance Fit" on Sunday!
