FREE Gund pandas for all! #hometweethome

Our longtime sponsors at TELUS have been helping us deliver the awesomeness for years, and we're not the only initiative that they support.

Our longtime sponsors at TELUS have been helping us deliver the awesomeness for years, and we're not the only initiative that they support. Their latest is the World Wildlife Fund, for whom they've set up a vending machine inside Pacific Centre where you can go and get a FREE Gund panda. In addition they'll also give $1 to the WWF on your behalf, all for a simple tweet! Here's how to get your Gund and help the WWF (like I did about 20 minutes ago):

STEP 1: Go inside the Pacific Centre entrance at Georgia and Howe.

STEP 2: Turn to your left and look at the note on the purple screen on the TELUS vending machine.

STEP 3: Send out a tweet using the hashtags on the screen and your Gund is dispensed not one second later!

STEP 4: There is no step 4. Your work here is done, and TELUS will donate $1 to the WWF.

Some neat tech facts for the nerds out there (like me):

- Tweet hashtag + localized pin is the activating mechanism. Every time a pin is used it vends the panda and a new pin is created. Each twitter account can only use it once to ensure it doesn't constantly spit out Pandas on retweets and/or 1 person can't take them all.

- The machine works instantaneously and is running off a TELUS smart hub on their 4G LTE Network.

- This is the first time the tweet vending machine has been in BC!

And some other notes from TELUS:

Animals and the environment are a key pillar of our organization. To us, every animal is family. That's why we've partnered with the World Wildlife Funk (WWF) to protect our nation's critters and their habitats for years to come. The critter campaign launched nationally on November 18th, celebrates our four-year, $1 million partnership with WWF and raises awareness of our shared commitment to Canadian wildlife.

IF you can’t make your way down to Pacific Centre, please visit any participating TELUS store to purchase a panda or go online (givewherewelive.ca) and help the WWF.
