Our 5 most popular blog posts from the past 365 days

It's funny the types of stories that gain traction here on our blog.

It's funny the types of stories that gain traction here on our blog. After 6+ years of running this thing you'd think I'd have a grip on what might have a chance at getting your attention, but I'm still surprised when things gain traction and get people talking.

Our single most popular post of the last year was THIS ONE where I shared what I dubbed as "The best stop sign in the Lower Mainland".

Second most popular? THIS ONE about those $200 watermelons at Urban Fare (cue their marketing people cheering for its viral success not only on our site, but everywhere).

The thing those top two posts had in common was that you either loved them or you hated them. You either thought that was a fantastic stop sign or you thought it was ridiculous that we'd call it that. Similarly you either thought it was [cough] awesome that they sold those impossibly expensive watermelons in our impossibly expensive city, or you hated it. Our third most popular post though, nobody was hate-clicking their way to see THAT STORY about how salmon had actually returned to spawn in a creek in the city. If you don't think that's awesome you must be drinking Grinch juice.

The fourth most popular post though, this one also brought in views from those who loved it and those who hated it. THIS POST about the chandelier that's going to be installed underneath the Granville Bridge.

Lastly, our fifth most popular post of the last 365 days was an anomaly in that it wasn't something universally everyone loved nor was it divisive. It was THIS POST about a crazy old nightclub in downtown Vancouver called The Cave, which was made to look like (huzzah!) a cave. Simply random and awesome, just the way we like it!
