Vancouver's NEXT big election involves egg nog

In the 6+ years that I've been the editor of this blog I've made no secret of my love for egg nog and have tried to share the love with other nog fans with annual editorial around this wonderful beverage.

In the 6+ years that I've been the editor of this blog I've made no secret of my love for egg nog and have tried to share the love with other nog fans with annual editorial around this wonderful beverage. Each year as it's released I try to make sure we ANNOUNCE it, and once upon a time I even invited someone to try and drink more egg nog than I could over the holiday season in a challenge called the EGGNOFF (I threw in the towel quickly as I didn't want to end up hating nog by overdosing on it).

We only ever did one We only ever did one “Eggnoff Challenge”, so Amanda McCuaig is still the champ

To me, the annual release of egg nog to the market is symbolic of what we’ve been doing here since we launched. Vancouver Is Awesome doesn't cover crime stories, we don’t break bad news or things that’ll make you angry; we simply celebrate things that make your city great with the hope that we can put a smile on your face and remind you of what keeps you here despite all the awful crap. Awful crap happens all over this great city of ours and you don’t have to look very far to read about it, so the one “breaking” story that I’ve got into the habit of doing is the scoop that egg nog has become available. That's our kind of breaking news.

So you can imagine how thrilled I was when my name showed up on a list of people that Vancouver's own Avalon Dairy had selected to be the first to sample this year's egg nog when it comes out.

It would mean the world to me to be the first to partake in 2014, and I am asking that if you like what we do here that you'll help make this dream a reality! Simply click HERE, fill out the 2 second survey and vote for me. It will literally take you 2 seconds to click my name and vote, and you don't have to sign up for anything.

And considering this is an election of sorts, I promise that if I am elected I will always make egg nog a priority on our blog. I will make sure that we deliver this hard-hitting story each year to let you know when this beverage hits the streets, and will pursue other stories that involve nog. Now GO VOTE!
