Hidden Hikes In and Around Vancouver
By Vancouver Is Awesome
Whether you are an avid hiker, or simply prefer a scenic escape away from the hustle and bustle of the city, consider one of the following hidden trails for your next outdoor expedition.
Pacific Spirit Park - Easy
By Vancouver Is Awesome
While Pacific Spirit Park in itself is quite popular, we thought to feature it for the numerous trails that it contains—up to 73 km in total, all of which feature little to no elevation.
Quarry Rock - Easy
By Vancouver Is Awesome
Although a local favourite (we had to include it anyways), Quarry Rock located just off the coast of Deep Cove, is a hike that promises to deliver beautiful views throughout the 3.8 km trip.
Dog Mountain - Easy to Moderate
By Vancouver Is Awesome
This is a relatively easy hike from an elevation and distance point of view, starting from the top of Mount Seymour. However, there may be some technical challenges (slippery paths) along the way.
Hollyburn Mountain - Moderate
By Vancouver Is Awesome
When you reach the peak of Hollyburn Mountain, you will be treated to spectacular views of the Burrard Inlet. With approximately 450 metres in elevation, the hike is moderately challenging.
Goat Mountain - Moderate
By Vancouver Is Awesome
If you're looking for a more scenic, quiet, and less intensive hike than the Grouse Grind, Goat Mountain is your best bet, with the trail starting at the top of Grouse mountain, and spanning 8 km.
Mount Harvey - Difficult
By Vancouver Is Awesome
For any seasoned hiker, Mount Harvey will present more of a challenge as it involves climbing up a whopping 1500 metres in just 6 km, with amazing views of Howe Sound & The Lions waiting at the top.
Coliseum Mountain - Difficult
By Vancouver Is Awesome
If you plan to hike Coliseum Mountain, then prepare to set an entire day aside as it is rather long distance wise, with a few steep ascents along various parts of the trail.
