Who's going to bring the floating McDonald's McBarge back to life?

The floating McDonald's McBarge that was moored in False Creek for Expo 86 has had a fairly quiet 28 years since it served up McMuffins to the world.

The floating McDonald's McBarge that was moored in False Creek for Expo 86 has had a fairly quiet 28 years since it served up McMuffins to the world. It's been sitting in Burrard Inlet near Port Moody since 1991 collecting graffiti, moss and urban folklore about it being used for raves, and people breaking in to explore. This recent photo shared on Instagram brought it back to my attention, as happens every 6 months or so.

Back in 2010 a developer had proposed that it be dragged up the Fraser river and turned into a new restaurant and floatplane dock, but since this news broke it's been hanging in limbo. I'm always holding out hope that something like this will happen to it and that it won't simply sink and become a permanent fixture on the ocean floor, even though it's currently a really cool artifact to check out when you're on or near the water.
