If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap". In other words, this is a weekly series on things to do and places to go in Vancouver that fall into that magical category of being both cheap and awesome.

Remember pen pals? And actual mail that wasn't bills? Do you ever long to reconnect with pen and paper - or better yet, typewriter and paper? The Regional Assembly of Text has just the thing. This quiet little paper shop on South Main not only has the most scrumptious array of stationary, but a monthly letter writing club. Totally free, just show up and use their supplies to write a letter to someone you love. While you're at it, check out their button making station! That costs money, but no more than $2 a button.
