If you've been paying attention over the past year you've probably noticed something about us: we're trying to give you more of what you like. Digging deep into our analytics, our team has been tracking the stories that do well (ie: the ones that lots of people read/share) and then delivering more of those to you on a regular basis. Similarly, when something doesn't do well we've been working to address that. Sometimes cancelling categories/features altogether and sometimes just rejigging them. We've been around for almost 8 years now and are always evolving and refining what it is that we do and how we do it, and as V.I.A.'s founder and editor-in-chief I'm so happy to be able to continue to pursue our core mission of delivering positive stories of Vancouver's awesomeness to you each and every day.
Yesterday, as I was looking at the back end of our Facebook Page, I found something that I wanted to share: other local Pages you should Like (and maybe already do). Facebook offers a look at Pages similar to ours in our "insights" dashboard, and this chart below gives a glimpse at other Vancouver media that are delivering content that people are enjoying. Even though most of these are news sites (who hire actual journalists and practice actual journalism) and not fluffy lifestyle media properties like ours, it's still reassuring to see us ranking pretty high on the media landscape in general.
