Last week we shared the news that Clerks director Kevin Smith had committed to doing a fundraiser at the Rio Theatre in an attempt to help the owners purchase the building. In fact the first one sold out so fast that he committed a second one.
The man has a big heart, but one that is apparently working a little too hard; the fate of his Vancouver dates are currently up in the air as he suffered from what he called a massive heart attack last night. No word from the Rio yet but we will keep you posted on the situation.
After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h
