The Japan Market Summer Festival brings together 70 vendors to downtown Vancouver for a two-day outdoor ticketed event that will include several food and drink options and live entertainment like taiko drumming, on June 8-9, 2024

Soak up the sights, sounds, and tastes of Japan this June as the Japan Market's Summer Festival takes over the North plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery for a weekend of food, shopping, and fun.

This year's edition, taking place June 8 and 9, will feature more food than before, with a tantalizing line-up of offerings for sale including okonomiyaki (Japanese pancakes), crepes, taiyaki, ice cream, matcha drinks, and more.

In addition, organizers say they will have over 70 participating vendors selling "unique Japanese-style crafts and merchandise."

Live entertainment already on deck for the marketplace festival will include "TATE" theatrical sword fighting, taiko drumming, dancing, and even karate demos. You can even pose for pics with a samurai who will be on-site. The full entertainment schedule is expected to be announced soon.

The first 50 people to enter the market on both days will receive $10 in Japan Market vouchers to spend at the festival.
