Noodle chain closes last Vancouver location

An Asian fusion restaurant is now moving in.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle has closed its Kerrisdale location - less than a year after closing in downtown Vancouver.

In less than a year, those seeking Chef Hung's Taiwanese noodles have now lost both Vancouver restaurant locations.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodles in Kerrisdale has closed at 2028 W 41st Ave; while the location is still listed on the company's website (along with the affiliated downtown "bistro" location which closed last fall), it isn't listed on their Instagram page and signage has been removed for the storefront.

It means people will, technically, have to leave Vancouver to visit one of the remaining locations featuring Chef Hung's award-winning noodles. The business still lists spots at UBC and SFU, along with a flagship restaurant in Richmond and an express version in Burnaby.

The Kerrisdale location was previously home to The Red Onion, which closed in 2016.

It won't be empty long, though. Myst, an Asian fusion restaurant in Burnaby at 6400 Kingsway, has announced it will add second location on 41st Avenue. There's currently a pending business license for the restaurant at the former Chef Hung address.
