Delta offers several options in the last couple of weeks in October for under $400 return. For example, a flight departing from YVR on Saturday, Oct. 19 and returning from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) on Saturday, Oct. 26 costs $376. The itinerary only includes one stop in either direction in Minneapolis (see slide two)
Delta offers numerous one-way flights from YVR to LGA for $217 with one stop.
This price is considered "low" for economy or about $189 cheaper than usual. The least expensive flights for similar trips to New York typically cost from $390 to $1,450, according to Google Flights.
Prices for JetBlue's ultra-convenient nonstop service between YVR and JFK also drop in October. Round-trip flights start at $477 throughout the month.
