UNIQLO's first foray into the Vancouver market was just a few months ago. The Japanese retailer's debut Western Canada store at Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby drew massive crowds, and already they are prepping two more UNIQLO locations in the region.

This week UNIQLO announced they would be opening soon in Surrey at Guildford Centre, followed soon by a CF Richmond Centre location.
“The launch of two additional UNIQLO stores in British Columbia is very exciting for us,” said Yasuhiro Hayashi, Chief Operating Officer of UNIQLO Canada
At Guildford, UNIQLO will have 12,800 square feet of sales floor, stocked with the company's signature LifeWear lines--AIRism, BLOCKTECH, Ultra Light Down, along with premium Jeans and UT, for men, women, and children. The store's opening date has been set for Friday, March 9.
For their Richmond Centre outpost, UNIQLO will move into a 8,010 square foot first floor space. The projected opening is for this spring.
UNIQLO’s roots go back to 1949, but about 20 years ago the company took a page from The Gap’s playbook and switched their focus to producing their own label of casual wear, and opening stores around the world. The retailer hit Canada with a one-two punch in 2016, opening at Toronto’s Eaton Centre in September and Yorkdale shopping centre the following month.
