If you thought it felt chilly in Metro Vancouver this weekend you weren’t wrong.
Nearly 50 regions in British Columbia shattered temperature records for the coldest Oct. 25 after Arctic air swept through the province, said Environment Canada.
The exact number broken was 47 – it included regions of both the B.C. coast and interior.
At the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) a historic low of -4.6 degrees Celsius was recorded, breaking the 101-year-old record of -3.3 degrees Celsius set in 1919.

1) Oct 31 1984: -5.9C
2) Oct 29 1991: -4.7C
3) Oct 25 2020: -4.3C
A new record was also set in Squamish, which posted a low of -0.7 degrees Celsius, replacing a record first set in 2002 – 0.0 degrees Celsius.
Whistler even saw a record low of -6 degrees Celsius, the coldest Oct. 25 since 1954 when it was -3.9 degrees Celsius.
