They came in sequins. They came in glittery dresses. They came in white boots, costumes, and Travis Kelce jerseys.
This weekend thousands of Taylor Swift fans flooded the city as the pop star ended her Eras Tour in Vancouver.
Expected to gross around US$2 billion by the time all the tickets are properly tallied, the record-setting tour ended with three shows at BC Place on Dec. 6, 7, and 8, 2024. In total, around 160,000 people were expected to attend the show, with other fans coming just to be in the city while the tour wound down.
With an estimated 70 per cent of fans coming from outside of Vancouver, with 40 per cent coming from outside of Canada, hotels and restaurants in the city were packed with Swifties. V.I.A. spent some time meeting and snapping photos of them around the city, as they explored Vancouver.
The shows are expected to have a $157 million impact on the city, according to Destination Vancouver.
