Inspired by Jef Choy's ongoing love affair with things-found-or-left-in-the-alley I find myself regularly doing double-takes when I see things that other people have left behind. Occasionally, I will even find things myself.
Cute Potential: Maximum.
On a drizzly evening a few days ago I noticed this gem in my alley. After the knee-jerk double-take I shrugged it off and kept going my merry way, but my soul was stirred and struck by the promise of Cupid's DIY bow. I went back to do a quick inspection for bedbugs (I've been through it once and that was enough) and decided to take the plunge by investing in a wee little re-decorating project. I'm thinking new knobs and some sort of paint overhaul are in order but I'm not sure what. It's quite a solid piece and methinks there is potential for greatness on the cheap, though my experience in this area is nil.
Give me some ideas here, people! Have you ever overhauled an alley find? Share, please.
