You can’t spell party without art.

And party they will, starting Saturday, Sept. 28 to kick off 10th anniversary celebrations of B.C. Culture Days.

The Mount Pleasant festivities kick off at 4 p.m. at Vancouver Biennale headquarters on West 3rd Avenue before ending up on Beaumont Studios on West 5th.

Each venue will host studio tours, music and an interactive puzzle scavenger hunt headed up by Space to Space arts collective member Patrick Christie.

More than 10 resident studios housing jewellers, knitters, painters, ceramic artists and musicians will be open for tours at Beaumont from 5 to 8 p.m. A 1980s themed party bookends the day at Beaumont starting at 8.

The CBC will host a launch party running 10 to 11:30 a.m. at its headquarters in downtown, located at 700 Hamilton St.

Performances will come by way of the Sacred Circle Steppers, Lorita Leung Dance Company, and AMED Dance Academy. A live painting activity will also be presented by BC Culture Days ambassadors Olivier Salvas and Tiffany Blaise.

Culture Days started in 2010 as a beacon to raise awareness about the arts and to encourage participation and collaboration across the myriad of artistic mediums. It’s staged at the end of September annually and events are being held across Vancouver on both Sept. 28 and Sept. 29.
