BC Place bag policy different for Taylor Swift's Vancouver Eras Tour shows

Rules for purses, bags, and friendship bracelets every ticket holder must know

Vancouver sporting event or concert fans may already be familiar with BC Place's usual bag policy, however, for the three upcoming Taylor Swift Eras Tour shows at the stadium, there is a different bag policy in place (see slide 2).

Ticket holders headed to one of the three final nights (ever) of the world tour on December 6, 7, and 8, will be decking themselves out in "Bejeweled" outfits, but when it comes to the bag policy, concert-goes need to be "Ready For It," or they will not be able to enter the venue.

BC Place bag policy for The Eras Tour

While ticket holders are encouraged not to bring bags to the stadium, each ticket holder is permitted to bring one bag within the following criteria:

  • Clutch purse or belt bag no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
  • Clear plastic bag no larger than 12” x 12” x 6”
  • Clear bags may have a printed logo no larger than 3.5” x 4.5” on only one side of the bag

Exceptions may be provided for diaper bags and medically necessary items that cannot fit into a clear bag, notes the venue.

All bags are subject to search.

And, for anyone hoping to pass something special along to Swift, take note: Gifts for the artist will not be accepted or collected.

For fans looking to add some sparkle or stickers to their clear concert bags, BC Place cautions that may not be in their best interest, as it could mean they aren't allowed in.

"The problem with putting coverings or stickers or bejeweling a clear see-through bag is it very quick, quickly becomes not a clear see-through bag, which will then be denied coming into the stadium," said Chris May, General Manager, BC Place.

Rules for friendship bracelets for The Eras Tour at BC Place

The venue also has strict rules for the friendship bracelets fans can bring into the stadium to trade and wear.

All friendship bracelets must be worn into the stadium or carried in a bag which abides by the BC Place Eras Tour bag policy.

Carabiners (metal or plastic) holding bracelets are strictly prohibited.

Will there be a bag check at BC Place?

BC Place is offering a paid bag check service for items fans cannot/do not want to bring into the stadium, however, it will be located across the street from the venue on Pacific Boulevard.

The bag check will be located outside the fence perimeter BC Place will have set up around the stadium for the shows, which means bags not bound for the stadium with a ticket holder must be dealt with before accessing the ticket holder-only area.

Bag check will be $20 per item.

Other items you can't bring to the show

BC Place will not allow fans to bring in items like strollers or umbrellas. Fear not: Even if it's raining outside, it won't be raining in BC Place. May said the roof will not be open for the Eras Tour.

Ticket holders can bring in an empty, soft plastic bottle that is no larger than 500 mL with no cap for filling with water at the venue, but reusable glass, metal, or hard plastic bottles are not allowed in the venue.

Selfie sticks are not allowed in, nor are battery charging packs larger than your phone.

Concert-goers should carefully check the venue's full list of prohibited items before heading to the show.

All of BC Place's special policies and show information are available online on their Taylor Swift Eras Tour page.
