Calling all vintage fashionistas!
The third annual Bizarre Bazaar returns to Vancouver this month with a colourful and carefully curated collection of items from yesteryear. Presented by the Museum of the BC Society for the Museum of Original Costume, the event will feature a number of vendors and vintage clothing specialists.
Visitors may find everything from period clothing to jewellery, accessories to collectibles, and much more. The organizers also provide an opportunity for patrons to purchase items from a large and significant collection of historic clothing that has been lovingly assembled over several decades and now must be liquidated. What's more, many knowledgeable experts will be selling items from their own collections exclusively at the event.
“A new vendor at the bazaar will be selling items from her mother’s and grandmother’s estates," states Kaarina Talvila, event organizer. "Some of these items date from 1910."
The organizers also note that the show may be of particular interest to film and theatre designers.
In addition to being able to examine closely a display of vintage wedding gowns, bazaar patrons will be able to “Ask Ivan.” This is a unique an opportunity to have the renowned fashion historian, Ivan Sayers, identify and date your vintage collectibles and family photos.
