Each year the Vital Statistics Agency releases a ranked list of the most popular names given to babies in the previous calendar year in B.C.. However they also have a tool that's live on the internet year-round, where you can view historical data dating back 100 years.
Check it out HERE and see how your name (and your friends' names) stack up over the past 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 years in British Columbia.
Oh, and note that any names that were issued to less than 5 babies in a calendar year are scrubbed from the list.
