Coquitlam musician drops single about shedding ego, past life

"Letting You Go" is the new single from Coquitlam musician Tim Steinruck and Sarah Smith.

A life coaching session on New Year’s Eve 2020 brought Coquitlam musician Tim Steinruck to his senses.

After years of what he felt were failures — his marriage, work and a management and recording deal with Paul Stanley of KISS — Steinruck struck a deal with himself to turn his life around for good.

Now, he’s out with a single with Sarah Smith called “Letting You Go” that describes the pain of leaving his former self behind and the joy of renewing himself after five decades of hardship.

Told as an alternative rock–country ballad, “Letting You Go” is a release of Steinruck’s ego and a call to action.

Today, he’s life coach, a solo artist and the leader of The Mighty One. He also runs a record company called Begin Street Studios in Coquitlam, a reality TV show and an independent multimedia network.

“I am passionate about songwriting, performing and supporting and guiding independent artists’ careers,” Steinruck said in a news release.

“I am also committed to the study of human psycho-spirituality and the power of discipline and purpose. My journey to becoming a certified Accelerated Evolution (TM) Success Coach not only transformed my life but also continues to transform the lives of those I serve. Armed with these priceless life lessons and gifts, I stand here now, committed to supporting others to create their legacy as I continue to expand my own.”
